A Landed Graduation Story: Faith and Benny

Anjali Cameron | 10 Mar 2021

In December of 2017, Team Landed was proud to feature the the story of Faith and Benny. Faith, an educator at Ravenswood City School District, and her partner Benny worked with Landed to purchase a home in Oakland. Additional down payment funds, along with the heartfelt buyer’s letter featured in their customer story, helped them stand out in the competitive Bay Area market and make their homebuying dream a reality.

Fast forward to 2021 and Benny and Faith are now some of our first customers to graduate from the program and exit their partnership with Landed.

We asked them to share some reflections on their graduation experience as well as any advice they have for others considering Landed:

When did you begin planning to end your partnership and what was involved?
The planning began when we started the re-fi process. The combination of very low interest rates, a substantial increase in the property's value, and the notion that we intend to stay in the house for multiple years all played a role in deciding that we could and should end the Landed partnership.

Any words of advice for other essential professionals considering Landed?
Advice would be to think of the relationship with Landed as the first step. Don't feel like you need to wait until everything else is figured out because Landed can advise on a lot of the process. Build the relationship early and leverage Landed's expertise!

Here’s wishing Faith and Benny the best of luck on their next life adventure!
