Landed Launches in Portland

Ian Magruder | 12 Sep 2019

While housing affordability is universally known as a challenge in historically expensive coastal cities like San Francisco and New York, housing has much more recently become a critical challenge in cities like Seattle and Portland. The Pacific Northwest is a beautiful place to live, but over the past decade, it has become increasingly unaffordable – especially for teachers, school staff, and other essential professionals who want to live and put down roots near the communities they serve. With the increased public understanding of the magnitude of the housing problem has come an increased desire from school leaders to address it with creative solutions.

Last fall, Landed launched with our first school district in the Seattle area, Bellevue School District, and in less than one year we’ve already helped a dozen BSD employees successfully purchase new homes for their families. This fall, we’re thrilled to bring Landed to the Portland area and expand our footprint in the Pacific Northwest by partnering with all eight school districts in Multnomah County

We've launched in Portland!

"We are pleased to identify innovative ways to support our educators’ ability to participate in homeownership, particularly in the very communities where they provide their services.”
–Guadalupe Guerrero, Superintendent, Portland Public Schools

“We believe this educator-focused program, Landed, will provide our staff members with a new option designed to make homeownership more accessible and improve our ability to recruit and retain the best and brightest educators.”
–Dr. Katrise Perera, Superintendent, Gresham-Barlow School District

As part of this launch, we are hosting a series of info sessions at high schools across the county at the end of September. These sessions are open to all public school faculty, staff, administrators, and their spouses. You can find the full list of events and sign up at: www.landed.com/portland
