On Saturday, June 29, Landed hosted a free Summer Celebration for Bay Area Educators at Levi’s Stadium. In partnership with the Bay Area Host Committee and the College Football Playoff Foundation (Extra Yard for Teachers), public school employees were invited to gather with their friends and family for a fun afternoon of festivities to celebrate the end of the school year. Educators and their families had the opportunity to tour the 49ers Museum, which showcases the rich history of the San Francisco 49ers over the years.
Families experimented with lab activities connecting football to STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, & Mathematics), and joined 49ers EDU for movement drills on the stadium field. Families enjoyed catered food and explored the interactive exhibits. Finally, Landed announced the fifth winner of our Down Payment Giveaway for Educators. After a brief introduction from Sofy Navarro of 49ers EDU, Landed’s Kelley Nayo-Jahi and Alex Lofton surprised Araceli Vazquez and her growing family with a giant check for $25,000 – money that Araceli and her family can use independently of Landed's down payment program.
“We just want to say thank you,” said Araceli. “We have been working with Landed, and they’re so helpful. This is our first time buying a home and they are very responsive, and very supportive – we just want to say thank you for everything.”
This year marks Araceli’s second year at Washington Elementary School in Richmond, California as a dual language immersion kindergarten teacher. After working with Landed for about a year, Araceli and her family recently decided to purchase a home in Pinole and are already only two weeks away from closing escrow.
